history

Sigh,
Were the men involved in the Boston Tea Party by definition "terrorists"? Yes, by definition they were.
Were the signers of the Declaration of Independence "insurrectionist"? I don't think the text of that document leaves much doubt.
Were the colonist that stood at the bridge at Lexington "traitors" that they refused to lay down their arms before the British troops? Yup, guilty.
Were the men and women who bore arms granted by the British crown "treasonous" for supporting the separatist cause? well yes, yes they were.
I have no problem looking at my forefathers in these roles. It is truth. I also believe their actions were right and justified. I have no problem with teaching my children that men of property and wealth threw their lot with every common subject of the crown and said "Enough is enough, this far and no further"
We had a War for independence and then we had a political revolution which established our way of life.
