Gas

Today I read how the Big oil companies are before a senate committee claiming they are hapless victims of economics, that they don't _mean_ to make 36 Billion dollars this quarter, the people of this country made them take the money. http://www.star-telegram.com/business/story/658233.html

Some how I have trouble feeling sorry for them. I hear them say that all this is driven because there isn't enough refinery capacity... seems to me a couple Billion here or there could remedy that problem, and.. provide American Jobs! But no they will build refineries in other countries, all with our Government's help. Mean while refineries here will be shut down due to being to expensive to run (take a look at that profit number again they mean to make it bigger) More Americans will be out of work and forced to buy gas they can't afford that was refined in some other country and shipped here (driving up transport cost to excuse higher prices) because the so called American Oil Companies are sucking OPEC's collective dick.

I am buying a bicycle partially because I can barely afford to drive to work. Keep in mind I only work 3 miles from home... and I can't afford to drive to work. Even after buying a more fuel efficient truck (which is a necessity for my family as we haul a wheel chair) I still can't afford the gas.

And that is what we should all do, walk , ride bicycles, car pool. STOP BUYING GAS. That goes for this Ethanol stuff too, it's driving up the prices of food. It is driving up the Prices of BEER! Our fuel is becoming so costly we can't afford to eat or have a job. Foreign powers are breaking our nation, not with guns and paratroopers, not with a military invasion, but with a strangle hold on our economy.
