Being an Army brat and veteran of the US Navy I run into situations where I just think a bit different than some folks who haven't lived around the military most of their lives. I know it is hard for allot of folks out there to understand what our Men and Women go through each day or how on earth they would manage to do something extra in the middle of a combat zone. The answer of course is that is what they do all of this because it is what they do. A simple yet profound statement.
They guard our country our personal freedoms and they give back to our communities whenever they can. They do this because they believe in _Us_ and our Nation. I never ended up on station overseas But so many of my friends and Family have. that I know how much letters and communication from "stateside" makes a difference to our soldiers in harms way.
Many here have worked hard to let them know we care as an example I send to you today the communication between A school class and the 101st Air born stationed in Iraq. the Diaries of Battle Hard Bear.
